JAMES SCHIAVONE

James Schiavone graduated from Salem University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences. Early in his career, he managed projects for nuclear utility services and worked as a contractor for the EPA on multiple Superfund site cleanups across the country.

He later joined GZA GeoEnvironmental as an environmental scientist, where he operated a lab-grade gas chromatograph to support on-site analysis for major environmental projects.

In 1996, James earned his Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

He went on to hold leadership roles in the GIA Alumni Association’s New England Chapter, serving as secretary and vice president for more than a decade.

In 2003, he opened MARTONI & JAMES, a custom luxury jewelry store in Peabody, Massachusetts, which he continues to own and operate.

Over the years, he has made numerous trips to Antwerp, Belgium, sourcing Hearts and Arrows diamonds for clients throughout the Boston area.

James is also a shareholder in MASTER DIAMOND CUTTERS, the company behind SIRIUS STAR®...THE WORLD'S BRIGHTEST DIAMOND.
