Evert is known for his collaborative spirit and passion for excellence. He has played a pivotal role in the development of SIRIUS STAR®...THE WORLD'S BRIGTHEST DIAMOND, working closely with his father, renowned master diamond cutter Mike Botha.

Together, they have pushed the boundaries of diamond design and brilliance, setting new standards for quality and craftsmanship in the global diamond market.

In addition to his work with SIRIUS STAR® DIAMOND, Evert has partnered with Brad Baker to launch BERML Jewelry for Men, a brand dedicated to providing affordable and stylish jewelry options for men.

Recognizing a gap in the market, Evert and Brad have focused on creating pieces that combine contemporary design with accessibility, making it easier for men to express their individuality through high-quality jewelry without breaking the bank.

Throughout his career, Evert gained valuable experience working across radio, television, and print media, collaborating with creative professionals to develop engaging content and contribute to the vibrant media landscape.

He also made his mark in the music industry as a young A&R (Artists and Repertoire) manager for a record company, where he was responsible for discovering and nurturing new musical talent and helping to shape the careers of emerging artists.

In the mid-1990s, his entrepreneurial journey took off when he co-launched Epic Culture Magazine, a publication celebrated for its fresh perspective on contemporary culture. Building on this multifaceted media and music background,

Evert went on to work with several of South Africa’s top brands, helping them develop and implement innovative e-commerce and loyalty programs. His expertise in storytelling, digital strategy, and customer engagement enabled these brands to expand their reach and build lasting relationships with their audiences, establishing Evert as a forward-thinking leader in both the creative and business sectors.

Evert’s commitment to community and well-being is also evident in his involvement with RIVER VALLEY RESILIENCE RETREAT INC. This organization is dedicated to supporting first responders, military personnel, and others who face high-stress situations, offering them a place to heal, recover, and build resilience. Evert’s leadership and vision have been instrumental in advancing the retreat’s mission, ensuring that those who serve others have access to the resources and support they need.

In 2022, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal. Created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne, the medal serves as a tangible way for the province to honour individuals who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to their communities.
