Transforming a traditional diamond into a SIRIUS STAR® HERITAGE DIAMOND is a specialized recutting process designed to maximize brilliance, fire, and scintillation.
The SIRIUS STAR® DIAMOND is known for its patented facet architecture—optimizes light return by precisely aligning angles and proportions, often revealing performance that a standard round brilliant or legacy cut cannot achieve.
EVALUATION & PLANNING
During evaluation, we assess the diamond’s current symmetry, inclusions, and weight distribution to determine how much material can be removed while preserving structural integrity.
Strategic reorientation of the pavilion and crown, coupled with tighter tolerances on symmetry and polish, allows the stone to channel more light back to the eye.
The result is a visibly livelier diamond with crisper sparkle and enhanced contrast patterns that stand out even in low-light conditions.
TRADE-OFFS
Recutting to a SIRIUS STAR® DIAMOND profile does involve trade-offs. Because the process refines the proportions and eliminates excess or misaligned facets, a modest loss in carat weight is typical.
We work to minimize this while prioritizing optical performance and stability, especially around inclusions or strain lines.
When done by an authorized or licensed and experienced SIRIUS STAR® DIAMOND cutter, the recut can elevate a diamond’s perceived size and beauty due to its increased brightness and edge-to-edge scintillation.
RESTORATION (RE-CUT REPAIR & RE-POLISH)
Yes we also offer diamond restoration (recut, repair, and re-polish) services where we revive a diamond’s beauty and integrity by correcting damage, wear, or outdated proportions.
We assess an damage, abrasions, polish and symmetry issues, then strategically remove minimal material to restore crisp facet edges, optimize light performance, and reinforce structural stability.
Scratches and girdle nicks are repaired, the polish is renewed to eliminate surface haze, and proportions are refined to maximize brilliance and fire. The result is a cleaner, brighter diamond that often looks larger and livelier, with minimal carat loss and preserved long-term durability.
